On Tuesday the 19th of September the staff and students of Beech Hill College gathered to honour the pupils who had excelled in their Junior Certificate Exams. The Principal, Mr Mc Ardle stated that the excellent Junior Certificate results were a fitting tribute to the pupils for their hardwork and dedication. The staff of Beech Hill College were praised for ‘going the extra mile’ to provide extra tuition, support and encouragement to the pupils.
Mr Mc Ardle praised the award winners “who are a fantastic example to the rest of the pupils in Beech Hill College of what can be achieved by students who are diligent and hardworking in a school that provides excellent teaching in a progressive learning environment”. Best overall Junior Certificate results Awards were presented to Cian Maguire and Louisa Duggan. Prizes of cinema vouchers and certificates were also awarded to students who had perfect attendance.
A ‘Happy Heart’ Award was presented to Ms. Myrtle Williamson by Ms Michelle Marray. Beech Hill College canteen was one of only 20 schools nationally who were given this prestigious award by The Irish Heart Foundation for providing healthy options daily for Beech Hill College pupils.
In memory of Ms. Mona Clarke bursaries were awarded to two Leaving Certificate pupils, Jamie Mc Hugh and Aoife Mc Elvaney and a Leaving Certificate Applied student Cormac Mc Kenna for excellent results achieved in their respective exams.
