It has been a year like no other! At Beech Hill College we embraced remote learning during lockdown however, staff and pupils were really looking forward to getting back to school in September. In order to keep everyone safe and school running as smoothly as possible we introduced lots of new rules and regulations such as the wearing of masks, social distancing and regular handwashing and sanitising . We are proud to say that all of our school community have diligently followed these rules and we are looking forward to a well-earned break over the Christmas holidays.

Due to Covid restrictions, we were unable to conclude the year with the usual Awards ceremony and disco however, Mr Mc Ardle and Ms Sheerin visited every classroom to speak to the pupils, thank them for all of their hard work so far this year and gave everyone a gift of a bag of goodies. A prize of a cinema voucher was also awarded to Honor Colleran (First Year student) who designed the Beech Hill College Christmas card this year. Mr. Mc Ardle sent this card to past teachers, Principals, other schools and businesses in the Monaghan area. The canteen served a delicious Christmas dinner on Friday the 18th of December and prizes of €50 ‘one for all’ vouchers were presented to the best Christmas jumper in each year group. Siblings posed for photos beside our Christmas tree.

The entire school community in Beech Hill College are very aware of the challenges that families face, especially this year. Mr Tony Mc Hugh, Ms Suzanne Mc Ginnity and TY pupils Ally Mc Carron, Kaylin Geary, Ella Mc Kenna, Orla Mc Phillips and Lily Quinn have worked tirelessly in the run up to Christmas collecting foodstuffs donated by staff and students to create over 140 hampers. Local businesses Monaghan Boot Company and MDE installations also contributed to this appeal. Mr Tony Mc Hugh our Home School Liaison Teacher delivered all of these to very appreciative families in the Monaghan area.
